Too many properties on West Court owned by the Shelter of Flint are being rezoned D2. There is no transparency as the City no longer posts the meetings and agendas of committees on line. You just look up and they are done. Some residents moved into the Welch -Metawaneenee area because they were assured it would be a growth area and a future Hurley development area. Demolition takes place but little else. Maybe Scott would like a group home in her neighborhood.

This house was previously owned by Carolyn Sims and gutted when she abandoned it. When neighbors heard it could be used as a transition house, they began a letter writing and phone campaign to stop the proliferation of these homes in their neighborhood.

Obviously Flint's Dem's have done an amazing job of protecting us from evil job creators. But for those that want jobs instead of welfare you can move to cities like Houston.

How Houston gets along without zoning

Adam- Years ago room and board homes as well as phony adult foster homes dominated the Carriage Town area and in general made living in those neighborhoods miserable.

The people around Welch have had it with the unregulated boarding houses and transition houses. They are tired of the problems that come with these houses and they don't want to become a dumping ground for people behaving badly. They are willing to fight for a decent neighborhood in which to live. Just remember all of the problems on Beard Street and all of the recent abuse cases of vulnerable adults found by the Sheriffs Department.

The houses that have moved here had people who robbed as many as they could and those who really needed mental health care and did not receive it.
