- in order to get anything done in Flint. I drove by the site of the fire that happened a couple days ago on ML King between Welch & Hamilton, and it's all cleaned up already! All the rubble is gone, the basement walls are gone & it only needs to have the hole filled.
Yet, there are 4 houses at Milbourne & Paterson that burned several months ago that haven't been touched. Then, there's the house at 232 (I think) West Hamilton where the upstairs wall on the East side of the house has fallen exposing the second floor. The first floor wall is bulging way out & ready to collapse as well. I'm sure there's examples like this all over town.
Guess you just have to be connected, or know someone at city hall. |

Hmm. Any idea who owned the properties? It's possible the house on ML King was just owned by someone who had their crap together and put things in motion, while the other two were owned by absentee landlords or someone who couldn't care less.
Not that I doubt that there is favoritism in city hall. But in my case, we happen to know people with heavy equipment and experience that would help clean up a mess like that that aren't involved with local government at all. |

I watched news coverage of the fire on King that showed an excavator there starting to remove rubble while the fire department was still there.
I won't even mention the house at Dupont & Dayton that's been abandoned and rotting for over 30 years, or the house on Dartmouth between King & mason that's full of black mold & on the so-called "emergency" demo list for 10 years. Or, the partially demo'd house at Dayton & Chevrolet with the excavator that's been sitting there for a month or so. |

I too saw that news clip and it made absolutely no sense. If it was arson, there was nothing leftto inspect! |

I repeat, sounds like that took some planning. Why is it we've never heard the results of the many arson investigations? Or have they just completely been stopped? The "planning" I reference is because it seems burning it, clears the property quicker, in certain areas. |
