Stupid sheeple. You can see why the word went out, whatever you do drop the term "Global Warming".
Morning temp sets new record
Times Herald • October 1, 2009
It was colder this morning in Port Huron than it has been in more than
seven decades.
The Port Huron waste water treatment plant recorded a temperature of 32 degrees at 8 a.m., one degree colder than the record low set Oct. 1, 1935, according to information from the National Weather Service in Oakland County’s White Lake Township.
Amos Dodson, a weather service meteorologist, said no records were broken elsewhere, including at Detroit Metro Airport in Romulus and in Flint.
It currently is 39 degrees at the St. Clair County International Airport.
Today’s temperature is expected to reach 59 degrees. The average high for Oct. 1 is 67 degrees in Port Huron. |

I am not sure what you're getting at by posting this article. Again, here you are posting something, no real explanation from you, and it's somehow.. and argument about something?
How about a little explanation. |

Not at all, I just expect that when somebody is trying to say something that they come out and say it. This isn't the case with you - I think you are trying to make an argument about global warming here, but since the article you posted doesn't seem to have anything to do with the topic, I'm left wondering. |

Yeah, that's what I thought you were getting at, but I wanted you to say it just to make sure. I do hate jumping to conclusions.
Jan 14, 2009:
Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization, Michel Jarraud, says people should not confuse local weather variability with climate change.
Continued, he says:
quote:
Dr. Michel Jarraud schreef:
"Global warming will mean that heat waves like the one we got in Western Europe in 2003 will become more frequent. But, it does not mean that the 2003 heat wave was produced by global warming ... Last year, we know that part of the relative cooling was due to the La Nina phenomena, which was moderate to strong in the first part of 2008. Then in the second part of 2008, it became closer to what we call neutral condition. Now, it is a little bit unclear what will happen this year," he said.
What "Skeptical Scientist" says about global warming, just so there isn't any confusion:
quote:
Skeptical Scientist schreef:
Global warming doesn't mean every spot on the earth is uniformally warming but that the average global temperature shows a long term warming trend. The chaotic nature of weather means there will be cold snaps in particular locations, even while most of the globe shows warming.
Cold in one spot does not add up to a trend - and that's what being talked about here. An anecdotal experience of "it's colder than it should be," does not mean that, overall, global temperatures have been going down. Plain and simple - the science isn't hard to understand. A lot of it is presented in graphs and easy to understand terms. You should take some time out of your life and look into instead of trying to disprove trends with anecdotes (which by the way never works because trends always are more generalizable than anecdote). |
