Good Bye Senator Gregg. Maybe next time Mr. OhNobama will get it correct. Laughing

I give Gregg credit. He had a problem with Obama's order to turn all census data over to the White House instead of to the Commerce Department, as has been done since the census started.

This board is the most fun I have had in some time. Life is a little bit slow here for most folks and I find I have much too much time upon my hands.

I only wish I had some place to volunteer. Too much of the juice of the Agave plant can be hazardous to one's health. Rolling Eyes

I have extended family in Flint so I try and stay up to date with the news regarding the city, the crime, the economy and the state in general.

I find it interesting that last autumn the Governor was selling the idea of a plant that would turn "waste" into energy. Then Michigan was being sold as the Hollywood of the midwest and now the solar capital of who knows where? The current news is that 2,000 people may lose their jobs from a GM truck plant. Sad

I truly wish Michigan the best but am wondering why the Governor was reelected given the "misery index" that Forbs has assigned Flint. I believe it was Forbs.

The economy in general is in dire straits and as the nation replaced the republicans should Flint not replace Jenny in Lansing?

Just the thoughts from an outsider.

Burris confirms request for Blagojevich donation
Saturday, February 14, 2009 12:43 PM EST
The Associated Press
By JOHN O'CONNOR Associated Press Writer

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Raising fresh questions about his appointment to Congress, Sen. Roland Burris admitted in a document released Saturday that former Gov. Rod Blagojevich's brother asked him for campaign fundraising help before the governor named Burris as Illinois' junior senator.

The disclosure reflects a major omission from Burris' testimony in January when an Illinois House impeachment committee specifically asked if he had ever spoken to Robert Blagojevich or other aides to the now-deposed governor about the Senate seat vacated by Barack Obama.

State Rep. Jim Durkin, the impeachment committee's ranking Republican, told The Associated Press that he and House Republican Leader Tom Cross will ask Sunday for an outside investigation into whether Burris perjured himself.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada also said he was reviewing the disclosure, the latest twist for Senate Democrats in Washington who only consented to seat Burris on the condition that there were no "pay to play" promises exchanged in the appointment.
