Kevin's name do not have to be listed on a ofbeat site.
Just as long as Kevin is letting people hear his platform
he's doing okay. At 27 you can not lead yourself, much
less at City.

Your ideas is good for 2050, and not here in 2008. You
keep using other information, but where is YOUR own
research information that YOU have gathered, and you
can bet your a** that voters do not want to hear the
same old BS in different wording.

Kevin, stay away from the department stores.
Only campaign in the parking lots.

What is your plan to protect water?

Block any more companies like Nestle from bottling Great Lakes Water, for starters.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081031/ap_on_re_us/california_water

"We're seeing a phenomenon in the Central Valley where growers who have been in the business of agriculture are laying off workers who have been with them for 20 or 30 years because they don't have the water," Beck said. "It's one thing to see brown lawns and shorter showers in urban areas. The real impact in the Central Valley is people are having to find new jobs."

I'm not trying to bash Kevin on this particular point because I do realize we need to protect our own water but you can't grow crops without water and although we need water we also need food.

Tough. Great Lakes water is not for sale. This reminds me of a sign I read in some office somewhere: "A failure to plan ahead on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part". The drought conditions throughout the South-west is a tragedy, but a tragedy we saw coming for decades. Five states all draw water from the Colorado River so lawns and suburbs can flourish in the deserts around Phoenix and Las Vegas. Just because modern technology allows us to grow crops hundreds of miles from the nearest natural fresh water source doesn't mean nature will cooperate forever. Besides, your example is yet another lame example pulled out to make a point you don't understand. The Great Lakes are now protected from large extractions (but not by bottlers) by federal law. It's also technically impossible to pipe large amounts of water from Michigan, over thousands of miles, and the Rocky Mountains, to California, where the story you brought to us comes from.

I agree with you on most points but laws can change and water is a concern. The crops in California would not be as much an issue if we weren't turning so much of our food into poor performing ethanol.

I don't think we should go to the other extreme though and completely shut off badly needed revenue from our natural resources if we do have extra water to spare. You are probably more informed on this issue than me though so I don't know if you are right about the need to shut down the bottling plants.

<Adam Ford> laws can change and water is a concern.

It seems to me that Water protection is Kevin's concern
as well. The law will never change when it comes to water.
I agree Kevin, close these water stealing factories down,
Water is a gift from GOD. Which is a Human Rights that's
worth fighting for, and I am affiliated with Five major Water
Rights organizations. Who do not want our water privatized
or sold. Adam, why are you a negative thinker. who seems
to push your own selfish agenda?

Do you realize that people are losing their homes that they
have lived in 40 & 50 years due to a high water & sewerage
bill, and in most cases its not the water but the sewerage
that's so costly. Adam, go visit your water plant that's off of
I-475, and ask questions.

Here in the metro Detroit area we are doing battle with out
side cities in the suburbs who want to use our water supplies.
Guess What??? We won't allow that to happen. Here in my
City of Highland Park. We have Coke Cola who is trying to
use our water without paying, and we won't allow that to take
place.

A high sewerage bill comes from flushing the toilet to many
times in a day's time. Yeah flush it if you have to do a # 2,
but to flush it after every number # 1 makes the rates go high
as well, and another reason that citizens pay high water bills is
when street water mains and hydrant is broken or misused.

The Federal law may and could very well change. Dry western states want our water. If they ignore constitutional issues all they need to do is out vote us and start raiding the Great lakes.

The more and more I read your posts. the more you
are a negative thinking person. The Federal laws will
not change unless we allow them to change. Words
like Maybe, Could, If, May is wishful words, and why
should wishful words be used when we are in control
of what our Governments (all levels) do.

Western States want our water? How do you know? I
guess you received your info from reading false articles?
Most Western States are suffering because of no rain,
and what does the constitution have to do with the act
of nature?

For your information Mr Know it All. There is many bodies
of water out West to get water from, and there is no need
for California to get water from our Great Lakes.

I am not attacking you because of you're ignorant, but due
to the fact that you are spitting out incorrect information,
and just in case that you did not know misinforming info is
like misleading.

My organization is associated with a global human rights
system that's fighting for water rights. There is States that's
in this Nation where water is a problem, and the only real
problem is people like you are for privatising.

I urge everyone to use your search engine to read up on our
global/national, and local. Also become active in your water
board meetings is being held.

I do not have to post nothing to prove if you are right or wrong.
Because while you was running around in dodo diapers. I was
involved with Politics & Politrixs. Therefore any information that
you will try to present to me I shall delete it.

Yes I do respect you for dreaming that you know everything,
but living in Flint and Detroit is two different ballgames. and
again its sad that Flint got caught up in the mix.

I can tell that you are all mouth. Because you have not talked
about or mentioned any Water Activists groups or organizations
to support your claims. I suggest that just because that you are
at the age to vote. You should learn the indepths of Politics, and
one thing for sure you MIGHT be ready for Politics 40 years from
now.

EVERYTHING, that I have posted came from personal experience,
and believe me I do NOT use information from books or a news
papers to prove my point. So a matter of fact I am going to stop
lowering myself to your sesame street thinking level. However, you
can reply your a** off to anything that I write, but I won't reply or
comment on your dumb stuff, and MAYBE if you post something
with facts I MIGHT reply.

****To You Other Flint area Citizens****
I see that the 50th district has two people running for Lansing.
Dougless O'Neal of Flushing, and Jim Slezak from Davison.
Why none of you ever talk about the two? I heard about Jim
through Kevin, but I was not up on O'Neal until I researched
his political background.

In closing, Do anyone knows if FlintTalk has a ignore botton?

So in your "personal experience" have you talked with congressmen in dry Western states who's states would benefit from access to our water. Why do you trust them so much?

Damn Adam, Did I say that we talked about using Great Lakes
water? YOU seem like a person who hates defeat or someone
knowing more then you know. Why in the hell would California
talk about using the Great Lakes water, and California sits on
the Pacific ocean?

Do you see how dumb you are sounding? Or is it you just don't
give a Damn (its your way or no way at all). Well, you are really
pissing me off with your ignorant BS. People are dying from not
having water. There is people in the Southwestern part of this
Nation who have to buy pre-paid water cards to get water, and you
have the nerves to ask me a dumba** question.

Great Lakes is a Midwestern/Michigan concern (not California).
What are you doing to help the less unforturnate pay their Water,
Lights, or Gas bills, to prevent them from being without Water,Gas,
or Lights this winter? These are the main issues that's hurting
the Communities, and its people who is like you that think that
they know Politrixs or Politics, and don't know nothing.

You seem like one of them hourly workers at McDonald's, or do
you sell newspapers on Sunday Morning? The Politicians who we
elect to office don't give a dime about the voters, but people
will believe their lies (due to the reality of the whole thing) most
are wishful thinking that the lies would become true.

In closing, I do believe in giving a Candidate a chance to prove
His or her self the first six months in Office, but if they should
flip the script, and start Politrixing. Its time for a recall or time
to remove that person. (That's Stated in the Michigan Election
Law).

Like I said the internet is a place for fakes to sign on like they
know everything, and yet their attitudes, and write they type is
something from Sesame Street. Help save lives by taking a
Stand against crooks that's in Politics for their own gain.

Would some of you help me by explaining where did this
<Adam Ford> escape from? Adam, I do not trust them like
I do not trust you, and that's why I am an Activist not butt kisser.

Adam:

Let the western states make their own desalination plants...

http://www.coastal.ca.gov/desalrpt/dchap1.html

Do you know how hard it is to fight for water levels to be brought up to an acceptable level for people in Michigan that own lake lots on inland lakes? Hard. Do you know how hard it is for people just to pay the increased fees on the ready to serve charges that the county raised? Do you know how hard it is for people to drink their own water with their well sometimes, due to arsenic and just nasty appearing water to begin with?

Let Michigan take care of their own and let other states take care of their own and kick Nestle bottle plant out and send 'em to the Yukon Territory to drill for water...oy.

Desalination is very expensive. With majority rule the Great Lakes States could be defeated and the Federal ban overturned.
