I just read in the journal of another tragedy caused by running a generator indoors. What ever you do when you lose power do not allow even a small amount of exhaust from a generator to enter your home.
What is carbon monoxide?
• Invisible, tasteless and odorless gas
• Formed when fuel is burned
• Deadly levels of the gas can build up within minutes in an enclosed space
How to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning from a generator
• Never run a generator inside a house or garage
• Place a battery-operated carbon monoxide detector in the hallway outside bedrooms

I lost two loved ones in Ohio about two years ago due to carbon monoxide poisoning. It ain't pretty. I am thinking of them now more than ever....sigh. |
