And their master solution? Internships!

First of all, I didn't even know what I wanted to do yet when I was junior in college.

Once more, this shows a short-sighted emphasis on "job training" versus EDUCATION. You get a good enough education, you can take it anywhere to do nearly anything.

What they really ought to do is re-educate Michigan employers to get on board with the rest of the country.

The first thing that happened to me when I looked for work in Michigan (and it's NEVER HAPPENED ANYWHERE ELSE) is that employers asked me about being a "job hopper." Well, HELLO, that is what my generation is forced to do! I'd never even had a job that had a pension plan -- what's the impetus to stay for 30 years or so? Like somehow that signals a lack of commitment on my part!

And there you have it, they're all still thinking with a shop worker mentality. No wonder no one stays here.

Not to mention that not one company I've heard of in Michigan has perks that are worth a damn to someone interested in quality of life versus quality of wage. I haven't worked for a company in fifteen years that didn't allow people to work from home occasionally... until this one.
