Got an e-mail stating that rootsweb.com would change their website addy. Excerpt from e-mail.
"What will be different is
that the Web address for all RootsWeb pages will change from
www.rootsweb.com to www.rootsweb.ancestry.com. Again, the RootsWeb
experience is not changing."
I use this quite a bit and got in contact with a fourth cousin that lives in NC just this last month, she "lost" some of her relatives in Flint area, which are mine. This resource is wonderful.
I don't know if you are going to consider this spam, it's not meant to be mods......sincerest apologies if you construe this to be......rootsweb has always been free to the end user....but NOT ancestry... |

| ahh interesting. thank you! I wonder if that will do anything to the many genweb pages and genealogy pages that are hosted by rootsweb, like the Flint Genealogical Society... we'll have to see! |

Hopefully nothing, it sounds like they just might be putting things under one umbrella and also just one big huge server. 
My 4th cousin found me from a post that I made on the Smith message board back in 2004!!!! That board has like 2 million posts, I am surprised that she found me!!! ; |

What in the heck is goin' on with all of the genealogy sites moving.......
