Status report: by Terry Bankert 02 /18/ 2006

The Flint Citizen Internet Advocacy Group (FCIA) has promoted the retention of the Flint Ombudsmans office through
email,
invitation to our yahoo group,
flyers of our home page,
yard signs,
newspaper articles in
Flint Journal,
UNCOMMON Sense ,
Concerned Pastors Courier, CPS,
endorsement by the Flint Neighborhood Round table,
presentation at community meeting
and debate with one debate remaining.
And most importantly by your word of mouth. This is what I know of I assume more is going on. Not bad with no money.

BUT.....
Most of the people who are inclined to vote in a mid winter special election do not know any of this. [please re read the preceding sentence].........................

What you do in the next 10 will decide the fate of the Flint Ombudsmans office.

DO NOT WAIT TO FOLLOW JUST LEAD.........

INVITATION TO ANY APPLICANT TO THE FLINT OMBUDSMAN POSITION TO POST YOUR RESUME HERE AND A STATEMENT WHY YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE FLINT OMBUDSMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please be an issue warrior, do not wait to follow just lead.............

Thank you

I'm not sure I want to post my resume but I have done secure investigations before although smaller in scale and also documented them. I feel I would be able to give the office a cutting edge through the use of modern technology such as the internet and open source crm software. I also feel I can take all the heat this town can bring out although it should be burning pretty intense on what may go from an obscure position to the leading positiion in the city of Flint government. In addition I have a good health history and already at least go to the council meetings. I'm really looking forward to an interview with the city council. I really hope to tear that up unlike many of the other applicants. I also talk to demanding customers on a daily basis although I am sure the citizens of Flint will be much more demanding but for the price offered I think I can spend the time to deal with those demands.

Here again, you’ve got me confused. Why would you want to post a resume for a position you don't even believe in? I don't understand why you would want the job, when you don't WANT the job?

This is a seroius project for me. I am spending time I do not have.
The Ombudsmans office is important
the idea of internet advocacy with the ombudsman as a pilot project is important. It appears that terry, ted josh and rap are the doers here.

WHat makes us different is what I call boots on the ground. Public speaking mentioning the internet group, teds signs, terry's email invitation, word of mouth to friends, and flyer distribution with possible election day activity.

TV 12 had a FLint Citizen link on its front page over the weekend, Gonzales and I did a Sun morn interview at 9 I was on at 7 alone with variations of it played through the weekend.

Ted thanks for your efforts, I will cause any remaining signs to be put up. I am willing to meet online in person to debrief this effort and pick the next issue it you are.

The slush rain took off the paper on about 10. The wires are still in the frozen ground. I can get someone to re statple the paper.
