Argentine Township police arrest two men for possession with intent to deliver cocaine

ARGENTINE TOWNSHIP, Michigan --
Two Flint men were arrested Monday night for possession with intent to deliver cocaine, according to a press release.
An Argentine Township police officer observed a potential drug sale at about 7 p.m. Monday in the parking lot gas station on Silver Lake Road near Seymour Road. The officer made a traffic stop and found an 8-ball (an eighth of an ounce) and two or three other small rocks, said Chief Dan Allen. The street value was less than $100, Allen said.
Police also seized some cash. The two men were lodged in the Genesee County Jail.
It was the second drug bust in less than a week in the township, according to Allen. Police seized more than 250 prescription pills, mostly hydrocodone and oxcontin, along with some cash, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The bust occurred around 10 p.m. April 12 at Pinehurst Apartments on Harper Street. It was two years to the day and the same apartment complex where Dominick Calhoun was beaten to death by Brandon Hayes, who was convicted earlier this year of first degree murder. Hayes also was convicted of selling drugs.

Apparently, it is more important to bust up a dog-fighting ring and arrest a 14 y/o than to pull drugs off the street. Hmmm, seems to me that at least Dan is focused on crimes against people rather than against animals. A crime is a crime, regardless, but I would much rather have drugs off the street and away from kids then be worried about dog-fights. Mr. The Old Northern, are you a current or past police officer? If so, then you would understand that all police departments have good and bad employees. Are these lawsuits you speak against Chief Allen and his dept any different than the ones that are currently against Sheriff Bob and his dept? The county has so many against them right now that it is sickening to try to comprehend it. More are on the way, they just settled a racial discrimination suit that a deputy had brought against them. Now they are being sued by another employee who was assaulted by a supervisor who perjured himself. At least Dan is willing to confront the problem rather than sweep it under the rug like Pickell does. Dan is willing to tell the truth as opposed to Bob who can't even acknowledge his own kid that he had out of wedlock. Now he wants us to believe that dog-fights are more important than human life? Look at the many he has screwed over for years, deputies, other politicans, even his own family; But people keep on believing that he is the "Man" and will lead them to the promised land. Remember, he is the one who said "we can't arrest our way out of this crime problem".

Evidence points to "firefight" at scene of Fenton Township shooting, sheriff says

FENTON TOWNSHIP, MI -- Evidence shows that a "firefight" possibly occurred when a man was shot and injured in his Fenton Township home Saturday night, Genesee County Sheriff Robert Pickell said.

Pickell said his office has recovered multiple bullet casings from 9mm and a .380 caliber firearms at the scene.
Sheriff's deputies responded to the home on the 13000 block of Linden Road around 11 p.m. Saturday and they found the injured man down on the floor. Linden police also responded to the scene.
"The victim is saying that a couple of people invaded the house and shot him," Pickell said previously.
Pickell said today that there are inconsistencies between the evidence at the scene and what witnesses are telling authorities.
The investigation is ongoing.
