Recent violence and shooting on Flint's east side certainly changes the statistics formulated by the journal.

It would appear someone was driving the streets along Lewis from Hamilton north and just randomly shooting into occupied homes..

The 1400 blocks are east of Lewis:

shots fired 1500 block Jane; 1400 block Mabel; 1500 block Delaware, Indiana

I just drove the part of the east side between Lewis and Franklin, and between Broadway and Delaware. I had not been there since sometime last year. So much is gone and burnt ready to be demo'ed.

I saw residents out passing out flyers, I am guessing about the violence. None of the young people walking in the streets were representing and most were in black and/or gray.

Lots of tagger art but very little gang grafitti. I could see where much of the graffiti has been painted out.

Cobra graffiti along with RIP, crab killa, Vice lord Killer and Blood killa. There were some broken 6 pointed stars, etc. However, there was no designation as to what set the graffiti belonged to.

Closer to Delaware was a lone set of Crip graffiti, however there was some broken Cobra symbols.

The Crips and Cobras have had a long running feud for a long, long time. So is this what is erupting on the east side? Or is there an entirely different element occurring?

One of the houses on Mabel has been shot into three times.
