Neighbors on Seminole street were notified yesterday that the buyer of the large Home on the corner of Welch and Seminole plans to make it into a half way house for newly released prisoners. This neighborhood is struggling to maintain stability and residents fear the impact it will have on them.
The house has been sold by HUD twice before, but both deals failed to be completed. The price dropped from $6,000 to $4,000 because of extensive vandalism.
Who will want to live n a Historic district with a half way house located in the middle of it? |

Not to mention that the person that bought the house told some of the neighbors he didn't care what happened to the neighborhood as long as he made money housing released prisoners. |

I would imagine mostly liberals since they are always concerned about felons rights, time to put up or shutup whiners. |

Until this City and Mayor make it a priority to enforce ordnances on the books our neighbors will continue to erode.
