In Michigan , community colleges are seeking to offer baccalaureates in culinary arts, cement technology and nursing. Their efforts have stalled, said Mike Hansen, president of the Michigan Community College Association.

“We need legislation to do it, and the legislation’s been introduced, but that’s as far as it’s gotten,” Mr. Hansen said. “The four-year universities in the state are very much opposed to the idea.”

No! The state should not lift the bachelor ban on Mott college. It would cheapen the degree.

Have you heard about the "LS and Play" (Literature Science Arts) degree down at Ann Arbor? I hear a lot of athletes go for it.

You could make the same claim and say UM-Flint should get rid of some of there problems or make certain programs imposible for workig students to pass because U-M Flint's programs are sometimes much different/easier than Ann Arbor and we might have some programs that are tougher than Ann Arbor as well.
