I'm just a little pissed because I hate lipservice especially corrupt lipservice. I was blasting away and the corruption and dirty politics on the board and one of the Flint journal guys says we want openness blah blah blah. Obviously they are full of s***. Unsurprisingly Betty and Jerome stuck together. Linda has a solid slate of Jermome Betty and Paul Jordan. It will be interesting to see if they can pull them through though.
The school board PRE-approved a no-bid contract to outsource our summer ed program by suspending the rules which was very dirty and perhaps illegal but apparently the journal doesn't care about that kind of stuff because I had that nailed.
Jerome Betty and Paul could be a safer bet because any fool could tell I might be a renegade board member who would blast away at traditional Flint corrupt politics. |

You did a great job at the forum. You have learned alot while on the citizen's committee and your answers showed improvement.
Still kicking the table skirt in boredom..was not your best feature.

I was bored. At least I left the others alone. Jerome's "Hope and Change" message kind of gets old after hearing it for the 10th time but it did work for Obama. I was a little more irritaded and therefor awake for the second half though. I didn't think you guys would be video-taping my feet but guess I was wrong.
I had to run an ignorant lady out of the forum afterwards. I definately wasn't bored when I was doing that. I felt like a true Flint politician when I did that. She basically was saying I shouldn't run because she doesn't want nice schools for Flint children like I had out in Davison. I had to set her straight but she couldn't take it and had to run away before I was done with her. Too bad you guys didn't catch that on tape.  |

I was there for Caswell's address but apparently got there after Topping. It didn't seem too Earth shattering. He mentioned about differing data. He was saying some of the data changes is you do the school or choice or whatever where kids can pick the schools and I think he asked them a question about it and got the silent treatment. I missed Toppings address. He did seem decently concerned although not real animated. I do appreciate him going through the efforts to make his statement to the lifeless board.
I once again tore into the board because the school closing was NOT on the agenda and they did NOT put it on the table. It seems like every big decision is not put on the agendas.
Very Perry gave a good sob speech about how difficult it was and how pissed off some people in the community are and her and Paul Jordan tried to deflect some of my criticism. Paul did a pretty good job of damage control saying this is the same option they were looking at two months ago. His girl Ramsdell weemed a little bit irritaded that I went against her man Paul. Perry also mentioned how bad it sucks to get criticized all the time. I guess she takes everything personal. I think the board needs to spend more time in the schools during operation and less time and the Sarvis retreats and various conferences.
If I do win board people like you really need to consider stepping up. I don't think I could deal with derelects for 8 years. Flint schools are NOT o.k. and the board needs to get some of the not o.k. stuff fixed now and not 8 years down the road!
I'll probably vote for me Topping and crazy ass Davenport because I think Davenport would vote with me unlike Paul who seemingly is always voting with Perry and Thompson and Pauls girl Ramsdell who he recruited and Jerome who seems to be in love with Betty.
I thought I saw the bottom of the barrel when I ran for state Senate but this is something else.
This community is also atrocious. It seems like everyone has given up. Maybe some day I will too. I do know that Davison has some great schools and the township where I used to live can't have a stupid income tax like the socialist anti-business haven of Flint. Flint does have a some potential though which is why I put my life in jeopardy to move here. |

Flint school board meetings need to be taped for the public.
Though parents/community do not understand just how hard these meetings do affect children and businesses in flint.
JUST watch how many parents show up at the next board meeting..don't close my kids school.
Yet they do not take the time to VOTE in school board elections.
If there was not a special election on the may 5th ballot most would not vote on school board election.
I will vote for ONE candidate not three on every school board race.
Adam, think about it. Don't vote for competition. Top 3 vote getters win.

Board meetings have seemed pretty docile to me. I think the majority of Flint has given up on the school system.
I'm voting for 3 candidates. You get 3 votes you may as well use them. If Topping and Davenport won I might have 5 votes to vote down things like possibly illegal no-bid pre-approved contracts. |

Cover all your bets on the horse race if you want... there are only so many places in the winners circle.
Still you do not have to have flowers placed about your neck to make a difference.

Don't worry. My goal has already been accomplished. I gave voters a legitimate alternative. If I lose to Davenport or Topping by 1 vote so be it. I think both of them could be independent as well. For me to fix things though it would help to have a majority then to just be the one outcast "whiner".
Right. I did put some serious heat on the current board. I think Perry & Paul could feel it and will hopefully lessen/end some of the dirty practices.
Hopefully if I win board I will be more effective on the board than on the citizens committee. I couldn't get them to look at all the buildings which bothered me even though Sarvis is supposedly free to run. If thats the case then we should make every closed school into a free Sarvis center. |
