I was visiting some liberal Democrat friends of ours - a husband and wife - and while we were speaking their little seven-year old daughter came up to us and proudly told our group that she wanted to be president some day.

I asked their daughter "If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?"

She replied, "I'd give money to help all the homeless people."

"Wow...what a worthy goal." I told her, "You don't have to wait until you're President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you $50. Then I'll take you over to the corner where the homeless guys hangs out, and you can give one of them the $50 to use toward shelter and food."

She thought that over for a few seconds while her Mom glared at me, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?"

And I said, "Welcome to the Republican Party."

Her folks still aren't talking to me.

Yes, no pity for the homeless. They deserve it. Especially those damn veterans! How dare they come home and get mentally ill!

Anyone ever see the ratio of vets to slackers among the homeless community. Im all for getting those vets and their kids off the street and into some kind of program. The slackers well their have always been slackers they were once referred to as Hobos. I have heard their was a large hobo encampment in the area of the old w omens hospital on lapeer road.

Not for wages, anyway.

Krys has 2 advanced degrees and works at a school.

I work, but I'd like to quit my job to collect from the entitlement programs. What are they?

SS entitlement programs are bankrupting our country- How about $92 Billion per year to the needy like Boeing, Xerox, IBM, Motorola, DOW and GE. And I won’t even go into the rich man’s war and the gravy train for Halliburton and their subsidiaries. You’d rather single out some poor woman at a downtown bus station asking for spare change.

As for TT- try living on $1741 per month you might be able to feign out of our Social Security system. Yeah, go ahead- pick on Grandma. While the piggish rich drink martinis and watch the sun rise on our tax dollars.
