Looks like there's a decent amount of money being spent in the race to succeed Dale Weighill - but the candidate with the most yard signs who is also sending quite a bit of mail still claims a $1000 reporting waiver. That candidate is the same guy whose campaign finance violations (overdue fines from previous committees) have already been referred to the attorney general's office.

Two other candidates, Jerry Preston and Stephen Mintline, filed their reports after having raised over $1000, and both have produced less campaign material than the other candidate in question....Alex Harris.

You need to check the two previous committees he was involved in especially the Committee to Recall an Obstinate Offensive kook, He claimed an exemption and then bragged to the Journal about how much money he raised at a fundraiser. He had a complaint filed against him with the state. He never even disclosed the in-kind services such as the free rent and heat in their headquarters.

Check out the rules on lobbying in the City Charter. He lobbied heavily for Rilo and the assumption is he was paid. The Charter outlines the process for lobbyist but no one on the council ever enforced it.

At least Mays admitted he was being paid for his lobbying efforts.
