Actually the leaves aren't done being picked up, maybe 2 - 4 more weeks and they will be done. The problem they are running into now is that the trucks for leave pick up are also for salting and plowing. Sad

They sort of got ours yesterday. Lots of leaves plowed onto yards or left in the street. According to Mayor Eason, there won't be a pickup next year.

Salting and plowing??? Where??? Why?? We haven't had any snow to speak of yet.

I read it as Eason wants to eliminate it.

Drove my neighborhood and we are in trouble plenty. Th leaves were covered with snow and the pickup was so bad that all of the storm drains are filled with leaves on the intersections.

council meeting on Comcast today. Kincaid said they tried this during Colliers administration and it was a disaster. People did not pick up the leaves in the street and they froze and clogged up the storm drains. When spring came the drains were still iced over and the streets flooded.

Lots of large trees in much of the city. Small lots. Can;t burn leaves and not everyone has mulching lawnmowers. There has to be some solution. Our house had leaves from 7 large trees.
